Saba means “happy meeting place” in Thai and following an M&E upgrade, a noise complaint was received so they wanted to keep the good relationship with their neighbours.

The air extraction fans are very close to the windows of nearby residents and the area is essentially an enclosed courtyard which didn’t help matters.

A 24hr noise monitor was used to set the design goal and our expertise isolated the noise source to in-duct noise levels from two kitchen extraction fans.

The solution was to install in-duct silencers with sufficient insertion loss to meet the design criteria downstream of the concerned fans.
